I am a homeschooling, yogi, MOSTLY organic, fairie loving, knitting mom who is getting saner by the day! I am looking to connect with parents whose interests lye within the same areas! This blog journals my very eclectic family's life as new homeschoolers learning as we go! There will often be some homeschooling resources, yoga, reiki and alternative spirituality thrown in along the way!
Enjoy and Namaste!
So I was sitting here thinking how much quicker my entries could be if I had a standard list of abbreviations I could use for my blog. I think I will add to it as I go that way I can come up with them as needed....it may also give some insight to me if I have to try to define situations in my life in terms others understand. KM - my wonderful daughter since 1997 CJ - the other half of me, for whom my life would not be quite so pleasant. (yes that was kinda sickening.) Noni - my earth angel gone back to heaven (my adoptive mom who passed away in 2006) Dad or My father - this seems redundant but my dad refers to my adoptive father, who once upon a time was married to Noni MC - my adoptive OLDER sister that I grew up with SC - my wonderful niece from my adoptive sister 6/07 GC - my newest niece from my adoptive sister 6/09 "The Littles" - refers to SC and GC who I babysit for several times a week. DD- my biomom (i am an adult adoptee very happily reconnected since 1997) SR - my sister from DD's side (loves to tell everyone that she is 2 yrs. younger than KM) PR - my brother from DD's side (only 2 yrs. older than KM) JP- my biodad (happily reunited since 2000) LP- my biodad's wife (one of the most amazing, caring, generous, understanding women that i know) EP- my sister ~ JP's daughter ~ mom to OR OR - my neice ~EP's daughter DP - my youngest brother on JP's side (also 2 yrs. younger than KM doesn't think it is as cool to have a niece older than him as SR does) SAHM-SAHD-SAHP - stay at home mom / dad / parent PS - Public School HS- homeschool Now if that doesn't make my thoroughly confusing family more clear for you... then you are sane. I have trouble keeping most of it straight myself. This isn't even all of it either.

Once there were two women Who never knew each other. One you do not remember The other you call mother. Two different lives, Shaped to make yours one. One became your guiding star The other became your sun.
The first gave you life, The second taught you to live in it. The first gave you a need for love, And the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality The other gave you a name. One gave you the seed of talent The other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions The other calmed your fears. One saw your first smile The other dried your tears. One gave you up, It was all that she could do. The other prayed for a child And was led straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears, The age-old question through the years: Heredity or environment - which are you the product of? Neither, my darling, neither - Just two different kinds of love.
