Not Too Late - Iditarod starts this weekend!

I am reposting these resources since the event starts this weekend and it is NOT too late to get in on the adventure!

The Iditarod Dog Sled Race offers a unique learning experience for your family. The Iditarod is a tool of instruction that leads students to academic success and educators to enhanced STEM instruction.

Although the race doesn't start until the first Saturday in March you should check out this great article - Educators, Prepare for the Race Now - for some super tips and tricks to incorporate this into your education plans.

Then view these presentations and links to learn about the exciting opportunities for learners around the world!

Scholastic also has a pretty detailed lesson plan outlined HERE

Balto - an animated film about the roots of the Iditarod Race and Iditarod: The Toughest Race on Earth are also great "ice breakers"

Hi - Thanks for wanting to share your ideas & comments! I love hearing what others have to say, but just so that everyone is aware, I have the right and option to decide to post a comment or not. Foul language, inappropriate comments, lashing out at the world, or posting irrelevant ad links are a few reasons why posts may be rejected. My daughter & her friends like to frequently see what is being posted so therefore I would like to keep it clean.
I also have a tendency to reject "Anonymous" posts as I feel the content is not verifiable, therefore is often either irrelevant or not viable.
If your comment has been accepted - it will generally appear in less than 24 hours! Thanks Gina
